I chose to become a chiropractor, in my mid-thirties, with the simple goal to help people. Today, this still remains my primary objective.
I fell in love with chiropractic after chiropractic care resolved some chronic sporting injuries I had in my late teens. That first experience with chiropractic not only resolved my injuries, which was amazing, it more importantly changed my whole perspective on health.
The initial experience planted the seed that lead me to eventually become a chiropractor. I did try my hand at massage, for a couple of years, but was frustrated by my ability to understand the causative mechanisms of problems and to make real effective long-term change.
The journey to that point was really important as it taught me to always to always ask WHY?
Why is something there, why hasn’t it resolved, why does it keep coming back, why, why….
Fast-forward through 5 years of study and 15 years of patient care, and that constant companion of why, I have arrived at the undeniable truth that the human body has a complexity that is still beyond our full understanding. This complexity means that patient treatment regularly requires a complex approach that addresses the many highly sophisticated components of the human being and their neurological integration.
The research to unravel the complexity has driven me to find techniques that better help me to answer the why. AK or applied kinesiology is one particular tool that his been critical in my professional development to better resolve patient problems.
I have had the opportunity to work with Tracey Lademann and Trevor Chetcuti , who are both premier AK practitioners and certified educators. I chose to work with them so I could learn from the masters and expedite my own patient outcomes.
Since graduating I have completed additional studies that include:
